Privacy Policy

1. Who we are
ScoutUp is a sports discovery and scouting platform operated by ScoutUp Technologies (hereinafter "ScoutUp", "we", "us", or "our"). Our platform connects athletes, scouts, coaches, and clubs across India. For questions about this policy, contact us at privacy@scoutup.in.
2. Information we collect
- Account information: name, email address, phone number, and password (hashed via Supabase Auth).
- Profile information: sport, position, age group, district, height, weight, bio, photos, and videos you choose to upload.
- Activity data: posts you create, trials you apply for, connections you make, and messages you send.
- Device and usage data: IP address, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps — collected automatically for security and analytics.
3. How we use your information
- To operate and improve the ScoutUp platform.
- To match athletes with relevant trial opportunities and scouts.
- To send notifications about connections, messages, and trial updates.
- To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
- To comply with applicable laws and regulations.
4. Who we share your information with
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:
- Other users: profile information you make public is visible to registered users. Scouts and clubs can view athlete profiles when you enable "Open to Trials".
- Service providers: Supabase (auth and database), Cloudflare (media storage and CDN), and Razorpay (payments) — each bound by data processing agreements.
- Legal requirements: if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of our users.
5. Data retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You may delete your account at any time from Settings → Account. Upon deletion, your profile and posts are permanently removed within 30 days. Message data may be retained in anonymised form for safety purposes.
6. Your rights
Under applicable Indian law (IT Act, 2000 and DPDP Act, 2023), you have the right to:
- Access a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate data via your profile settings.
- Request deletion of your account and associated data.
- Withdraw consent for non-essential data processing.
7. Security
We use industry-standard security measures including TLS encryption in transit, bcrypt password hashing, and role-based access controls. No system is 100% secure — please use a strong unique password and enable 2FA if available.
8. Children
ScoutUp is not directed at children under 13. Users under 18 must have parental consent. If you believe a minor has registered without consent, contact us at privacy@scoutup.in.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the platform evolves. We will notify you of significant changes via email or an in-app notification. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
